Living Thankful - Day 8

Continuing the 30 days of Living Thankful with my friend Leah Adams.

Today I am living thankful that even with a medical challenge that is still not fully resolved, I am still grateful that I am in my right mind. I can see, hear, taste, walk, run, talk, clap, sing, lift my hands in worship, stand up and sit down and for all of that and MORE, I am grateful because I know it could be a completely different way.  Grandma always said, "Lisa, never take your health or the ability of your limbs for granted".  Grandma was in good health and lived a thankful life unto God until three brain anerusyms took her  life in her mid-seventies.  I wish I could say that I have never taken either for granted (health or the ability of my limbs) but sadly that's not true. There have been times I've taken both for granted without even realizing it I'm sure!

Living thankful for all of what I shared above is very humbling for two reasons: 1) it causes me to look beyond whatever else is troubling me in order to be grateful for all the ways God's hand is on my life and 2)  It causes me to have great compassion and prayer for precious people  who are struggling in those areas because God loves us ALL.  His Hand is with us ALL. Not one person is any better than another just because their circumstances are different.  We all have challenges and must learn to live thankful in the midst of it all and a great way to do that is to pray for others who are also in need and reach out as the Lord leads to meet some of those needs.

I'm living thankful for the privilege to pray for the needs of others and to never take for granted that we all NEED GOD!!! Amen!!

Living thankful is the only way to live, right? When challenges come we can live thankfully and live on or become negative and whither away. I want to live life to the fullest with you girl. You exude thankfulness and gratitude. Thanks!!!
