Living Thankful - Day 5, 6 and 7

I was off line and missed sharing 30 days of Living Thankful with my friend Leah Adams.

Day 5...

Saturday morning our oldest daughter and son-in-law dropped our grands off early in the morning on their way to work. My hubby gently moved past me and reached for our daughter and gave her a big hug and greeting.   I've seen it many times before but there was something special in that moment for me. I'm thankful to be married to a man who loved my daughter so much he asked and desired to adopt her when she was a young child, and called her his own.  He has been a very present, loving and supportive Dad ever since even during difficult times.  I'm thankful for the Christ alive in him that shows in how he loves on me, our children, grandchildren, SIL and especially on our GOD! Living thankful for love that exists in family when the head (my hubby) in Christ is living in and for CHRIST who is the absolute HEAD of our family.

Day 6...

Yesterday, as we sat in Service and listened to the pastor preach/teach the message "Giving God First Place" it touched my heart deeply. Am I giving God first place in my life? Does He receive first place in my heart, truly? Does He receive first place in my giving, in my devotional and prayer time, in my responses to people who are unkind or in situations that are troublesome? Do I give God first place in caring for others? Do I give God first place over the things He's given me to enjoy -- even over food and serving the Kingdom?! Do I give God first place over online and my off-line ministry? Do I give God first place over my emotions and thoughts?

I was challenged as we dug in deep to numerous Scriptures and the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart that while I'm no longer living the way I used to long ago--giving God my left-over;  I STILL have areas I need to tighten up on!!! I was grateful the Holy Spirit reminded me especially that I have to remain balanced in serving people. People can pull at you and if you are not careful you are suddenly responding MORE to their needs then you are to GOD's calling you to spend more time with Him. When that happens you can find yourself giving to others out of a dry well or a frustrating heart because you feel used up. While I matured in this area years ago, I am thankful the Holy Spirit reminded me as I sat under that Word yesterday at church.  I'm living thankful for the encouragement and conviction of the Holy Spirit in my life.

Day 7...

Today, I'm living thankful for trees. I have many around me. Each one stands tall and looks very different. Each ones branches sway with the wind almost like a symphony. They almost seem to be playing a song for the Heavens. As I sit here typing, the wind is swaying the branches of one of the trees across my home-office window as if to say, "Lisa, finish up and come worship the Lord with us". I'm off to do just that.

Abba Father, I thank You for everything...every lesson, every challenge, every bit of encouragement and conviction through Your Holy Spirit that causes me to look even more like Your precious Son, Jesus. I love You in Jesus Name! Amen and Amen!

Thank you for visiting today. For more Living Thankful posts please go HERE.  I'm trying to establish a set blog visiting day. Right now it will be Tuesday and Thursday mornings. To all my blogging friends, I'll see you then.

What are you living thankful for? I'd love to rejoice with you in the Lord.

Lingering In HIS Presence, Lisa
