Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
As I write this it is mid-morning Saturday and I'm preparing to go off-line until after Thanksgiving. This message will post on Monday to wish each one of you a very blessed Thanksgiving. I have had a year of blessings and challenges as have you, but the blessings always surpass the challenges and I'm thankful! I'm thankful that we belong to an awesome God and that our names are written in the Book of Life because of Jesus! I shared many things I'm thankful for in a few posts HERE but I'm also thankful for each one of you!
I am taking this much needed time off-line to prepare to lovingly cook for seven of my loved ones. I am most excited because this will be the first time both of our daughters, our son-in-law and our two grand-babies will be at the table together breaking bread for Thanksgiving. This Wife, Momma and Grandma heart is tickled beyond words.
I also need this time off-line because last week God led me back to the book of Judges. I have not been able to put it down. My face has been pressed into the pages of that powerful, meaty and convicting book! God has meticulously woven His powerful truths and dare I say, warnings not only on every page, but in every word, sentence and paragraph. I find myself studying out each reference. We see not only His hand of correction but His hand of mercy. Many lessons to learn and to take to heart in this book. My spiritual eye is hungering to absorb not only what is written but also the importance between each line that only our spirit-man can perceive.
I am drawn to pause, ponder and pray as I read. I pray for us; God's people who so often appear like the Israelites and I pray for our nation as I press my heart into the book of Judges for we can see snapshots and strong similarities between that time and this. Oh that we as a people of God would really see the urgency to pray for people, our nation, each other and ourselves. If it's been a while since you pressed your nose into that book, I would encourage you to do so over this Thanksgiving week and then join me in praying.

Have an enjoyable time - and rest, dear friend. Sometimes God just calls us to take some time off. And I'm excited to hear what He teaches you in the book of Judges.
